Our beaches

The beach is located 5 km from Tavernes de Valldigna and is one of the most popular destinations in Spain, surrounded by dunes and native fauna. It has about 3 km of coastline divided into two outstanding parts, the beach of Tavernes and La Goleta, connected by a canal. Both have been awarded the Blue Flag.

The Blue Flag is an annual award and certification system for environmental quality created and managed by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) since 1987. It promotes and rewards participation in voluntary environmental initiatives by municipal authorities, the local and visiting population and agents of the tourism sector. The criteria for obtaining the Blue Flag are grouped into four areas: bathing water quality, environmental information and education, environmental management and safety, services and facilities.

Tavernes beach

It has a length of 2,070 metres, with fine golden sand. It has an accessible beach and every day it is more and more common to see the practice of water sports, such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. There is a promenade where people enjoy walks surrounded by shops and restaurants.

La Goleta

Has a length of 760 metres, with fine golden sand, like that of Tavernes. Another of its characteristics is that it also has an accessible beach and the Parc del Llac, a recreational area for strolling and enjoying the open air with the whole family.

The two areas of the beach have a lifeguard service from 15th June to 15th September, and first aid with a medical clinic located next to the Local Police station, whose opening hours are from 8am to 9pm from Monday to Friday.

The daily cleaning of the beaches makes them some of the cleanest on the Valencian coast.

The shops, restaurants, bars and chemists give the beach a wide variety of services where you can find everything you are looking for. Means of transport such as train and bus make the beach well connected with the nearest cities, such as Valencia and Alicante, and make it one of the favourite destinations for people from the inland.

The bars scattered along the beach and the summer cinema make Tavernes beach an attractive place full of activities, both during the day and at night. It is also worth mentioning the beach bars on the sand, as they are a leisure attraction for tourists.

The beach offers a wide variety of activities for the whole family and for all tastes, there are several children’s play areas but we must highlight the two most important parks:

– The Parc del Molló. Its main feature is that it is designed to be enjoyed both in winter and summer: children can go cycling, skating and thanks to its accessibility it can be enjoyed by both adults and children as there is also gym equipment where older people can exercise.

– The Parc del Nord. It is an area where you can practise sport, it has 2 courts to play indoor football, basketball, etc. Throughout the summer there are numerous events and activities programmed by the Regidoria de Turisme.
