15 MARCH: VALLDIGNA DAY.

This festival commemorates the foundation of the Valldigna monastery in 1298, located in the neighbouring village of Simat. A traditional medieval market is held on the esplanade in front of the monastery and the monastery is open to the public.

In the evening, the 4 candles take place; each candle represents a municipality of the Valldigna. Each one leaves from its village and makes a route to a meeting point, which is sometimes the monastery of Simat or the town of Benifairó de la Valldigna.
